Neil Porter's paintings and constructs are created as separate, disparate elements which when brought together interact, forming questions on the relationship between content and process.
Not focused upon a singular defined content, the practice examines what happens to content once abstracted or deleted. By allowing what is removed to be as important as what is added or left behind, the question of priority and value is explored. Within the paintings, background and foreground interplay, pushing and pulling each other back and forth with in the picture plain, vying for importance.
Neil Porter lives and works in London and exhibited with Space In Between as part of RUBBER LINE.
