Presented by Kazimierz Jankowski

7-10pm
Unit 3 gallery
Space In Between hosted an evening of films by the American filmmaker Kenneth Anger, which were presented by artist, Kazimierz Jankowski.
The evening’s event “Kenneth Anger pt.2” belongs to a larger project of Jankowski’s that will culminate later this year with an exhibition featuring a film by Anger alongside new work by Jankowski.  For ‘Kenneth Anger pt.2’ Jankowski selected 4 of Angers films to be screened (Fireworks - 1947, Eaux d’Artifice - 1953, Scorpio Rising - 1963 and Kustom Kar Kommandos - 1965), alongside which Jankowski produced a poster and reproduced and early essay written by Anger (Modesty and the Art of Filmmaking- 1951. In presenting Kenneth Anger’s films and written work Jankowski was sensitive to the gallery space as a setting that is subtly theatrical in itself. Jankowski decided to call the event ‘part 2’, with part 1 being the project to come.
